There’s diffrent sim cards.. The old ones wherent 3G now the new ones are.. When you buy a phone usally you do a contract but you can buy it without a contract for about double the price or 100 bucks more… Plus Sim Cards don’t cost a thing unless there a replacement for a lost or stolen one…. So the sim card won’t make it cheeper, it might just give you 3G Service Errors if your using the old one…
